Conan in Prague, drinking again?
Here you can see James is cradling some crutches, James what happend to your leg? 'I fell off a mountain in Morroco and broke my leg'
I don't know how he did it but he slipped and fell down a slope, breaking his leg. He then hopped back to town to see the doctor.
The doctor looked at his leg, pronounced it broken, wrote out a list of things he needed to go buy from the chemist, including crutches and sent him hopping on his way.
James hopped down to the pharmacy, bought the goods - crutches first and proceded back to the doctors on two metal legs and one good one.
The doctor sets his leg and sent him on his way.
This is where James thinks I better get back to the UK to get this checked, good idea. James then travels back to Spain and proceeds overland to the UK - bad idea.
Arriving in Barcelona late one night, he fails to find accomodation, everything is booked out. No problem he thinks, I'll sleep on the beach, which he does.
Next morning he awakens to find his bag (and pillow for the night) was slit with a razor blade, most of his clothes, his walkman, mobile phone, money and wallet have gone!
Looking at this story I think alcohol must have been involved... possibly several times.
In a strange country with no money AND a broken leg....
What can you do? BEG
So here we have a DESPERATE English lad, dressed in shorts, a Panama hat and a gaudy multi colour poncho from Morroco and crutches, hobbling about asking for money. Everyone ignores him.
Being a bright lad James decides it is time for a new strategy. He sets himself up in the middle of the square and starts telling his story with great flair and theatric gestures.
His antics catches the attention of a passing gentleman who listens to his story with great amusement and says to James 'I do not know if your story is true but it was entertaining, here is $50, to organise geting home, and I hope if my son is ever in your situation that someone helps him.'
James called his parents, had them wire money to him, and was soon back in England where the doctor checked his leg and said it was good.
Where does this lead? Back to Prague of course, James then still had 3 weeks of holiday left so he jumped on the next plane to Germany and we ran into him in Prague, backpacking Europe on crutches.
