Conan Stevens with giant beers in Vilnius, Lithuania

My mate Rob and I enjoy Conan sized 1 litre cans of beer - how thoughtful for them to make these in my size.

This is in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, originally a German territory that was at one time a massive state, encompassing most of modern day Belarus and Ukraine.

Vilnius was the most friendly place I visited in Europe, I loved it there and I plan on going back to live for a while to really experience the place.

Having said that I definitely will not be going there in winter.

This night we went out after drinkning these cans of beer and drank more local brew and of course we hit the vodkas too.

I walked home in a Tshirt at 4am thinking it is a little cold tonight, locals in heated buses on the way to work in massive fur coats were looking at me and staring like I was a maniac.

Apparently I am, it was -2 degrees (28 fahr) and when I arrived at the hotel some of the other guests were getting up to see the snow - in 'summer'

But as Rob said, you Australians are mad, you come from a hot country but you doon't feel the cold. If it gets cold you put on a shirt, if it gets really cold, you put on some shoes, if it gets to freezing you put on some jeans. What is wrong with you people?

To bear this out I was wandering around the next day in a pair of shorts at about 10 deg (50 fhr). It was funny as. ALL the Lithuanians would stop and stare at the foreigner in shorts and Tshirt, while they were rugged up in furs, jumpers and overcoats.

Though I admit at one stage it got so cold I put a cap on to keep my head from freezing.

The Lithuanians were so friendly and nice it was unbelievable. The old customs of hospitality were rife. At one stage in jest I reached over the bar, grabbed the bar tender and told him that I was going to pay the next round or I would hit him. The local guys were fantastic. And the girls.... it was like Hugh Hefner was having a casual party and all the playboy girls were invited.

I know top modeling agencies back in Australia that could sack all their models and pick 20 new girls at random off the street in Vilnius and have better looking girls, who were nicer.

I am definitely going there to live for a while.... I want to go now :'(
