Spain Bullfights Real Madrid Salvadore Dali
I stayed in Madrid for 5 days, it was enough to see the cultural icons of Spain.
We saw the bullfights, the other guys went to see the soccer match with Real Madrid, we went and saw the palace, and I went to 2 of the 4 major art museums.
After the 2 art museums, the other two were the most unappealing things in the city. The collected works of Salvadore Dali were on display (probably best known for the paintings with the melting clocks). As well as many other well known Spanish artists.
One thing that struck me is that the Spanish artists all seemed to be tripping out and off their heads when they painted. Esp the artist that had lots of dismembered hands, feet and horses heads chasing people in the majority of his paintings.
Salvadore Dali paintings, to me, look like he was on acid, and he was merely painting the world as he saw it.
Maybe if I had some of what they were on I would have enjoyed looking at the paintings more....
