Bullfighting in Madrid

King Juan Carlos I, the current King of Spain is well loved by his country men. When I was there a Spanish friend related a few recent events from national TV that caught my attention, and apparently the hearts of Spain.

In one interview an unruly Catalan seperatist is said to have jumped up and given the King abuse, the King turned laughed, gave him the finger and walked off to applause.

Another incident related to me was the usual journalists following and annoying him. All they could get was his back as he disappeared, waving goodbye, up a mountain road on his Harley Davidson motorbike at full speed, leaving the journalists in the dust.

It is also recorded that in 1972 he actually competed in the Olympic Dragon class sailing event.
